Root Canal Therapy – Maple Valley, WA

Saving Natural Teeth with Pulp Removal

Tooth pain occurs for various reasons and can usually be addressed with over-the-counter medications, a dental filling, or a dental crown. However, when the pain extends deep within a tooth, there is a good chance that a more serious problem exists. With root canal therapy, our team can get to the root of the problem by checking the dental pulp to see if it’s damaged or infected. If it is, we can remove it so that the pain no longer exists, and your natural tooth remains firmly in place. Think you may need one of our professionals to examine a questionable area of your smile? What Happens During a Root Canal?

Preparing for a root canal means our team will begin by administering local anesthesia to numb your tooth and the surrounding tissues. We’ll then place a protective dental dam around the tooth to prevent moisture from reaching the area. Then, we’ll enter the tooth through its crown and start cleaning the interior structure, removing all diseased tissues and clearing out the root canals and pulp chamber.

Once the pulp is extracted, we will sterilize the area and fill this space with gutta-percha – a biocompatible solution that helps maintain the structural integrity of your tooth.

After placing a protective seal over the entrance point, we’ll have a customized dental crown created and fitted on top for maximum protection.
